Pixel 9 Pro Fold failed the durability test!

Ana sayfa / News

Google introduced its latest foldable phone, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, as the most durable foldable device it has ever produced. However, things didn’t go as expected in durability tests conducted by a famous YouTube channel. The device, which has a price tag of around $1,800, failed various scratch, burn and bend tests.

In our tests, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s screen held up to “level 6” scratches, but deeper scratches became apparent at “level 7.” What was really disappointing was the phone’s poor protection against dust. The device’s Super Actua Flex display showed signs of breaking, with the screen making cracking noises when it came into contact with fine metal dust and sand. So despite the device’s IPX8 waterproof rating, it doesn’t offer any official protection against dust.

As for the bending test, the antenna lines on the top and bottom of the phone turned out to be one of the weak points of the phone. As the device started to bend, these antenna lines turned into a new weak point, increasing the risk of the phone breaking.

While Google promotes the Pixel 9 Pro Fold as a more repairable and user-friendly device, these tests raise questions about the phone’s long-term durability. This device, which is particularly sensitive to external factors, may not offer the expected level of durability for users despite its high price.

How do you think these results of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will affect Google’s position in the foldable phone market? Will these results change your purchasing decision? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
